Keeps calling me and hanging ip

This number says it's a charity - they call me repeatedly despite me leaving multiple messages asking them to remove my phone number. They also use my personal mobile - I have no idea how they got it.

Number rings every day or second day.
No one speaks then hangs up immediately.
I call them back and it is a recorded message saying it's a not-for-profit organisation.
However, I don't believe this message i think it is a phone spam service that checks whether numbers are still valid because many other people are getting calls from this number.
I am making a complaint with the police and the communications alliance http://www.commsalliance.com.au/contact-us and i encourage you to as well.

I have been called every 2-4 days by this number for the last month or so. When I pick up, the person on the other end states that are from "Greenpeace" and want to thank me for signing a petition. I do not recall ever signing a petition but if I did, constant phonecalls are not a very good way to "thank" someone.
