At 12.21 pm, 18/10/2019 an inbound call to my mobile came to my phone. The caller’s area location displayed on my handset, was POINT COOK with phone number displayed as 0393948168 .
I did not recognise this number as a familiar number coming from friends, family, businesses that I am familiar with, so I let the call ring out. After the attempted call ended, my message bank tone rang out. So I checked the voice message and there was a lot background call center chatter and the caller was whispering to another person who was with the caller.
I then blocked the visibility of my number on my phone for me to call them back, for me to assess who the caller may be. An Optus Pre Recorded Message immediately stared the number that was calling is disconnected. I was unable to return their call.
I am lodging a complaint, as this type of invasive practice has become overwhelmingly common practice for marketing call centres.
This call interrupted me from resting from exhaustion and illness, from chemotherapy treatment treating brain cancer. I was resting, “not anymore”.
