Same call as everyone else. Clearly nothing is being done by the authorities with this caller as its been weeks!

Called this number back after receiving a voicemail advising that I had criminal charges against me lodged with the DPP for tax evasion and fraud. The guy identified himself as William Reid and said he was a senior investigator with the DPP. He said he would read the summons out for me and that I was being charged with tax evasion in the amount of just under $7k between the years 2010 - 2014. I stopped him there as I have done law and told him I would have to call him back after I picked up daughter up from kindy. I called the ATO and is a complete scam. I rang the guy back and played dumb until I told him I was a lawyer and that I had called the ATO and that I was aware this was a scam and it had been reported etc. He hung up on me. If I try the number now it just rings out. I reported it the ATO and there complaints department is going to get back in contact with me for further details.

Similar as other complainants where a recorded message has been received with threats of tax fraud and tax evasion and with serious consequences if the matter is not addressed by me or my solicitor. The caller is identified as ID Badge number 594982 from the Commomwealth Department of Public Prosection with a phone number of 02 671 11 623. ATO will be informed of this scam.

Psychotic caller - exactly the same as the others. Threatening legal action, telling me I need a criminal lawyer. Said they were from the ATO.

same as others threatened i would be arrested and assets claimed when i called back. Spoke with the real ATO and they confirmed was a scam and i lodged a complaint with the scam department

Same as others. Weve had 3 calls in last 2 days. Always a pre-recorded message. Same details as others (ATO, threatening imminent legal action etc) but sometimes the phone number to call back changes to 02 6711 1620.

Claimed to be from department of public prosecution and threatened to take me to court for fraud

Yet another tax scam. Always a belligerent Irish or South African fella with dire threats of imminent arrest if I don't call back immediately. Significant that they don't know my name or address, just the phone number.

Now I've had calls from the ATO over the years, and they go to elaborate lengths to determine your identity before getting down to business. And they're always super-polite too.

Threats from this number claiming to be from A.T.O. saying we are in serious trouble. Any feed back on this????

Recorded message gives an employee Badge ID No. 594982 and claims to be from the " Tax Office/public prosecution". They state that they are registering a criminal case against me for tax evasion and tax fraud and if I don't call back quickly, there will be extremely serious consequences as the issue is time sensitive.
