Thanks for setting this up. I received a similiar call today claiming that Mr O'Connor , from the ATO informing me that I have a lawsuit against my name for violation of taxes and a local police will be heading to my house to arrest me. It's definitely a scam.

Caller threats of tax evasion,police will arrest me, but wait, caller can assist if I phone the number left on the answer machine.22/06/2016.

What a loser! this guy gets his kicks out of making people confused and panicked by calling and telling them they are being charged with tax evasion. Their arrest is imminent and they shoudl call him back asap. I knew I hadn't been evading any taxes but I was worried nonetheless that he had the wrong number- for about 5 minutes until I checked online and found other complaints for this number.
When I called him back he answered the phone- "Australian tax office" then when I said I'd just got a call and asked him for his name,(playing along with it) he suddenly couldn't hear me and after a few fake hello's he hung up. Maybe he';s just trying to get info from people or maybe he's just a total time waster who has nothing better to do than lie to people to wreck their morning.

Scammer left 2 messages on my answering machine. I rang, said his name was Jeffrey Morgan, ID: 9094, Case No: JA-56255-VIC. Said under section 37 I have been charged with tax violation, theft by deception, tax evasion, that I was required to pay back $8098 and that if I hung up the phone it will be seen as an admission to the crime, police will be notified and at my door step in 30 mins and that I will serve jail time up to 7 years and will have to pay $90k.

Caller left message on answering machine.
Called back demanded I make $8000 payment immediately or they will freeze my accounts, send the police over to arrest and imprison me for 7-8 years. Advised they had someone come to my home last year on 2 occasions to discuss the debt.
They portray a legitimate face by saying the call will be recorded for training purposes.

Jason O'Connor calling from 0260642067 claiming that he is from ATO and telling me to correct my tax evasion.

When I hear this on my message bank I thought it is a fraud, If I get a call again and incase if I answer the call, then will ask to provide me more details like address for communication or direct mobile number etc and will post here.

Claims to be ATO and they are issuing a warrant for my arrest

Caller has left 3 messages on my answering machine. Claims he is from the Tax Office and that I am about to be arrested for tax evasion. Asks to call back on this number so he can resolve the issue. A definite SCAMMER!
