Australia Reverse Phone Lookup

I got one this morning. Informed my accountant and reported it as a scam.
Scumbags.

received 2 calls from this number claiming to be ATO threatening lawsuit etc etc

Woman rang saying I had to ring this number re tax or legal trouble with the government. I rang the number & an Indian sounding man replied & stupidly I gave him my name.

Also received on answering machine, same details as Catherine F. Except I have not attempted to return the call. I am hoping that the people behind the scam calls can be legally charged with causing a public nuisance (or equivalent).
Thank you to others who have logged complaints - it helped me to clarify that this is a nuisance call.

I arrived home to a message left by a woman with an American accent advising me to call 02 4203 2421 asap to "avoid all legal consequences". It had the hallmarks of an obvious scam, so I googled the number and found the complaint above made by John Southcott on Friday 17/3. I rang the number a few times this afternoon, using the 1831 suffix to prevent my home number from being visible at the other end, intending to investigate (and tell them in no uncertain terms what I thought of such scammers). Each time I heard the standard Telstra message "We're sorry, your call cannot be completed at this time.". Perhaps the number has already been taken down.

Received threatening calls from this number on my mobile and my landline at same time.

SCAM automated voice trying to tell you that you need to call back and sort out a tax issue.
